NHA recruiting committee members (22-Jul-2010)

We are in the process of conducting job analysis studies and test reviews to revise and improve on the current NHA tests. Because you are an allied health educator who is familiar with NHA and the quality of these tests, we hope that you can help us bring an even higher level of quality to the certification testing of selected allied heath professions.

To do so, we are asking you to provide us with contact information of people you know who are either working in these allied health professions or directly supervising individuals in these areas. In certification testing, it is critical that a sufficient number of the content experts involved in development of the test be directly involved in the performance of the occupation. We hope to recruit the nominees you recommend to serve on job analysis and test-development committees very similar to those for national certification examinations like the pharmacy NAPLEX, the respiratory therapy RRT or the nursing NCLEX®.

Educators are certainly welcome to be a part of this process; therefore, please don't hesitate to nominate yourself. However, our greatest need at the moment is for those practicing in the occupations or supervising those who practice. The list of professions we are currently building tests for is as follows:

Clinical healthcare professional certifications:

  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
  • Certified Medical Laboratory Assistant (CMLA)
  • Certified EKG Technician (CET)
  • Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT)
  • Certified Operating Room/Surgical Technician (CORST)
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) (ExCPT)

Administrative healthcare professional certifications:

Rest assured, we will not solicit your nominees for anything other than this project. We will only contact them once, unless they choose to participate in future projects. There is a possibility of a small honorarium for those who are selected to serve on these committees, but we believe the opportunity to play a major role in the development of the certification exam for their profession will be the principal motivation. The link below leads to a registration form that will allow you to input the contact information of your nominees.
